Job Summary
The Senior Accountant of the Fixed Assets Accounting Team is responsible for supporting the effective management and oversight of the company’s fixed asset portfolio. This role ensures accurate accounting, timely and dependable reporting, strict adherence to financial controls and corporate policies, and drives continuous process enhancements. The Senior Accountant is a key contributor within the team, collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional stakeholders and championing technology innovation to improve the efficiency and control of fixed asset accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Fixed Asset Accounting Operations
? Lead and oversee daily fixed asset accounting activities, including asset acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, impairment assessments, transfers, and disposals.
? Supervise fixed asset ledger reconciliations and prepare comprehensive month-end and year-end fixed asset schedules and reports for financial closing.
? Ensure precise recording of fixed assets in accordance with applicable accounting standards and corporate policies.
? Coordinate and manage physical verification of fixed assets to ensure completeness and accuracy of asset records.
? Lead impairment assessments and calculate necessary adjustments in collaboration with finance and business teams.
? Facilitate internal and external audit processes related to fixed assets, ensuring timely resolution of audit inquiries and findings.
? Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members, responsible for managing workload distribution to maintain team productivity and quality standards.
? Monitor key fixed asset performance indicators and contribute actively to continuous process improvement initiatives.
Compliance and Control
? Uphold integrity and accountability in financial record management and adherence to control frameworks.
? Ensure rigorous compliance with internal control policies and external accounting standards such as IFRS and HKFRS relating to fixed assets.
? Maintain appropriate segregation of duties and enforce authorization protocols within fixed asset accounting activities.
? Review and validate asset-related purchase contracts and approvals, ensuring compliance with procurement and capital expenditure policies.
? Monitor adherence to corporate policies concerning capital expenditure capitalization thresholds and asset amortization.
Leadership Competencies

? Facilitate clear and effective communication between finance and business units regarding asset additions, disposals, and transfers.

? Advocate for and lead initiatives to adopt new technologies aimed at automating fixed asset accounting processes and reporting.
? Partner with IT and relevant departments to enhance fixed asset management system functionalities and optimize operations through automation tools.
? Drive data analytics projects to generate actionable insights that support informed decision-making throughout the asset lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience
? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
? 6 to 8 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or financial reporting, preferably within a large Chinese or multinational manufacturing corporation.
? Solid knowledge of accounting standards including IFRS and HKFRS.
? Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Experience with fixed asset management software is advantageous.
? Demonstrated leadership capabilities with proven experience in managing teams or projects.
? Highly detail-oriented, organized, and adept at managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
